In Linzer Straße you will find what is probably the most beautiful post office building in Austria. The early industrial entrepreneur Josef Weber Edler von Fürnberg (1742-1799) had the representative post office built in 1792 by Viennese master builder Franz Wipplinger (1760-1812).
The stucco reliefs on the facade depict Mercury, the messenger of the gods, and portraits of postmasters, including Fürnberg himself. Above them are symbols of agriculture, warfare and the postal service.
