Hiking trails of varying lengths, on the plain and in the hilly country, in the forest or along the Danube open up the surrounding area. 

For cyclists, the region around Melk is also well developed. The Danube Cycle Path has become a must for the whole family. From here, well-marked and easily navigable paths lead to the valleys to the south or to the more challenging landscape of the Waldviertel.
